My father brought me out on Edwards fire alarm jobs at age 12. I have been a fire rep since the 70's.
Instead of a baseball mitt, my dad Walter gave me a bell and buzzer Edwards distributor demo kit and advised me on series circuit wiring with a series indicating light to be applied to indicate current.
The website does not mention my 60 or 70 high rise buildings installed in Boston as the Notifier representative or the 200- 400 jobs sold per year as a rep for American Multiplex, Notifier, and Pyrotector in the past and ongoing current projects. The projects for Digital Equipment provided by American Multiplex were at the forefront of the Digital Age setting the standard for multiplexing and digital addressability. Keltron was developing digital decoders and receivers at this time.
The Digital Equipment operating system was rewritten first for Digital Equipment Corporation full building automation projects and finally applied to the World Trade Center PDP-11 upgrade including the fire alarm system. The original WTC American Multiplex network was for lighting energy load shedding with the fire alarm and security reporting overlaid on the same network
In the last few years we have installed Keltron receiving systems in the New York Fire Alarm Association area at Con Edison, SUNY Maritime and Montefiore Hospital designed for multiple serial inputs and hardwired inputs.
I graduated from Franklin & Marshall College Lancaster, Pa, wrestled in High School and College and enjoy sailing. I have been the principle owner of Montgomery-Ames Associates for 35 years.
